For those of you who may have an interest in renting your motorhome, travel trailer, or 5th wheel through RvStewartRentals during the times you’re not using it, please read the following six most-frequently-asked questions:

1.         HOW DOES THE RENTAL PROGRAM WORK?

ANSWER: RvStewartRentals acts as a broker for private owners of recreational vehicles (units) in the renting of their units to customers (25 years of age or older) of good, stable character with valid drivers licenses.  In addition, RvStewartRentals collects in full all rental fees including, but not limited to the security deposits, and verifies these funds for certification in advance of delivery.

2.         HOW ARE THE RENTAL RATES DETERMINED?

ANSWER: Rates are based on the unit’s type, its equipment, its age, and the length of time of the rental.  Additional fees are assessed for excessive generator use (if applicable), additional miles (motorhomes only), and housekeeping kits.

3.         WHAT IS THE OWNER’S COMMISSION PERCENTAGE?

ANSWER: 60% of the time rental, excessive generator use (if applicable), and the mileage; 100% for housekeeping kits at $25.00 per individual. (Note: mileage charge only applicable to motorhomes.)

4.         WHAT PROTECTION DOES THE OWNER HAVE AGAINST ABUSE?

ANSWER: RvStewartRentals investigates all potential customers in reference to their overall stability of character. In addition, the owners have the opportunity to meet them during delivery.   However, as a further incentive for the avoidance of abuse, a damage deposit ranging from $250 (travel trailers and 5th wheels) to $500 (motorhomes) and a cleaning deposit of $75.00 is collected in advance of the unit’s departure and is not released to the customer until twelve days after the return of the unit, so as to give the owners sufficient time for damage inspection, excessive miles (if applicable), excessive generator use and fuel, and any other misc. costs.

5.         WHAT ABOUT THE INSURANCE PROTECTION ON THE UNIT?

ANSWER: A $5 to $50 commercial rental charge per day (depending on the unit’s value) is passed on to the renter during the days of rental.  (Although owners’ personal lines policies need to remain in force, it does not provide adequate coverage during times of rentals. Thus, rental coverage is always employed during rental.)

6.          CAN I GET A TAX DEPRECIATION ON MY UNIT?

ANSWER: Yes! Aside from earning an impressive income by allowing RvStewartRentals to rent your RV, you can receive an impressive tax depreciation, as well!
